Worthy of Life began in 2023 after the passing of two of our children.
Our first passed away at 13 weeks. I didn't go into labor and we discovered our baby passed at our gender reveal scan at 16 weeks. Our second passed after a mass was discovered in my ovary that was threatening my life.
We had just discovered that I was pregnant, but our baby was not large enough to see on ultrasound yet.
They presented me with a decision. They couldn't see a baby yet, and this mass could be an ectopic pregnancy, so I should take medicine to abort, or I can wait to see if the mass was unrelated to my pregnancy, and potentially save my baby's life.
However, in the second option, my life was constantly at risk, and I could begin bleeding internally at any moment.
I chose to fight for my baby's life. I believe that I am not more worthy of life than my baby. I believe that I am not given the right to weigh whose life is more important.
I was ordained by God to be the mother of the life He entrusted me with. I chose to do for this baby what I will do for each and every soul that God entrusts me with. I will protect, love, and cherish this baby for every second that God blesses me with them.
I would protect them with every fiber of my being, even to death. That, would be a death worth dying.
Unfortunately, this baby passed as well. But we were able to love our baby with all of the time we had with them. The mass, and the multiple other masses that were discovered over the next few weeks, began to shrink at a rate shocking to doctors.
Jesus says in John 15:13:
Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
How blessed are we to be given the opportunity to love someone with such a deep fullness?
I realized that God loves all of His children this same way. His desire is for them to be saved.
Is He asking you to do the same?
